Barcelona decides who will sell first between Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres and Raphinha

Sporting director Mathieu Alemani expects a tough summer if La Liga finally agrees on Barcelona’s numbers and allows players to sign up without exceeding the salary limit.

All the club’s efforts are now focused on achieving an increase in income and, above all, reducing the salary block which is necessary to overcome the financial fair play hurdle. It is already clear to everyone that a sell-off must occur.

This must be done in a careful manner so as not to affect the team from a sporting point of view and effectively help in resolving the club’s financial crisis. For this reason, in the field of sports, they will give priority to selling players who have no role in the team and at the same time have a high market value.

The priority of the sports management will be to sell players who have already been spent and who generate net benefits and many decisions will be taken from this point of view. At this point, there is no other way out because, otherwise, potential deals and registrations of players whose contracts have already been renewed like Gavi, Araujo and Baldi would collapse.

With this panorama, the club has considered many scenarios and it seems clear that they will choose to listen first to offers for players who have fewer minutes, who have a market and who achieve these benefits.

For this reason, Ansu Fati would be better sold ahead of Ferran Torres and Raphinha despite the fact that the latter two could also have offers.

The sale of La Masia-bred Ansu Fati would count as a full interest, while Ferran could not be sold for €55m. And in the case of Raphinha, it will be possible to get a higher amount than was paid.

Barcelona is studying everything, but it will not cross the red lines with players it considers strategic, such as Araujo, De Jong and Pedri.

Players who will also bring in a lot of benefits are those who arrived at no charge, thus, there are plenty of rumors about Christensen’s possible departure or Kessie’s use in an exchange deal. It would be two processes that would help a lot in lowering that salary cap, although that doesn’t mean they’re done.

The next few weeks will be very difficult and Xavi fully understands that he will have to sacrifice some pieces if he is to rebuild the team with the arrival of a full-back, defender, midfielder, striker, winger … and the long-awaited return of Messi. Of course, in Barcelona they believe that anything can happen in the summer.
